This week’s point is: Focus on the right path.
At the breakfast table, or on the way to school, ask your child if they are ready for school to be out. What are they most looking forward to about summer? Is it hard sometimes to pay attention in school when summer is almost here? Do you ever look out the window at school and think of all the fun things you could be doing outside? As hard as it might be, encourage kids to be patient until the end of the school year and show obedience at school and at home. Colossians 3:2, our memory verse, says, “Think about things that are in heaven. Don’t think about things that are only on earth.” Share an example of a time when you were obedient in your childhood and something positive that happened as a result. Say a prayer together that God would help your family focus on what really matters.
