Jesus said, "As the Father has sent me, so I send you" (John 20:21). We have been blessed with incredible opportunities to join God on mission among the nations. Missions at Venture Church includes local outreach opportunities as well as global, and there are several ways to participate.
You can play an active role in missions by giving financially, joining one of our teams on the mission field or participating in a service project through a Growth Group or campus-wide event. Campus-wide service projects include an annual Thames Elementary school supply drive and Operation Christmas Child.
No matter how you participate, you can also pray. Our ultimate goal is to develop disciples of Jesus Christ who know, love and follow Him.
Local Missions
Church doesn't just happen on Sunday mornings. We encourage people to get outside the walls of the building and invest in their community by showing others the love of Christ. We partner with two local organizations, Thames Elementary and Edwards Street Fellowship Center.
Thames Elementary is a K-6th grade school located fewer than five miles from the Lincoln Road campus. We need male and female mentors, classroom readers, ESL tutors, student tutors, career speakers and weekend food backpack helpers.
Edwards Street Fellowship Center is committed to the strengthening of the families and individuals and meeting special needs in the community. Much of the work done at Edwards Street is through their feeding program and their free health clinic which provides high quality medical, dental and pharmaceutical care at no cost to eligible uninsured and underinsured residents of Forrest and Lamar counties in Mississippi. Are these the only two ways to serve locally? Of course not! We encourage you and your growth group to think about the needs of those around you and how God has placed you in a unique position to serve your community.

Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child is an easy way for those of us at Venture Church to show God's love across the globe. Pick up an empty shoebox in the atrium of either campus, fill them up and return them to either campus by Sunday, November 20. Not only does your shoebox provide a gift for a child in need, but children who receive shoeboxes are also invited to learn what it means to have a relationship with Christ.
