Church Life Jan. 14

On Sunday, Pastor Jeff continued the "Cold Turkey" sermon series. Last week he told us that we should ask ourselves, "How can I grown into a more loving relationship with the God who made me?" This week he said we needed to ask ourselves, "How can I meet the needs of people around me?"

At our Lincoln Road Campus, 2,559 of you came, there were 513 of you at the Hunt Club Campus and 204 of you logged on to Church Online, asking themselves that very question. Did you know that God has a job or a project for each of us to do? It's not something we can pass off to another person either. You can't delegate your influence to someone else - it's unique to you. Pastor Jeff urged us to put feet to our prayers. It's not what we believe or don't believe about something, we have to act and we have to be urgent about it. Do it now and don't wait.

Pastor Jeff gave us three things we need to do this year: We need to let the love of God crush us. We need to ask God to create a new us. We also need to do some critiquing of our lifestyle. Real love flows out of community.

Our first "Next Step" class of 2016 met Sunday afternoon and we had around 90 join us. Next Step is our path to partnership and it helps you to find out more about our church and why we do the things we do.

Signup for Spring Growth Groups has begun. To see what groups are offered, and to learn more about Growth Groups, click here. Also, we have a special new event just for you - Connect Sunday! Join us in the atrium before and after each service to meet Growth Group leaders, sign up for a group, and get all your Growth Group questions answered.

Last but not least, our 252 Welcome Party is also this Sunday. Mark your calendars because you and your kids do not want to miss it!

Have a great weekend and we can't wait to see you on Sunday!
